Are you ready for a powerful journey through the ancient wisdom and modern practice of yoga?

Yoga is a science…heard that one before? There is truth in that statement but it’s often used to gloss over what we don’t really know. It’s a way to tell ourselves to trust the process and this is wonderful for most motivation for many of us. But sometimes you come to a point in your practice where you really do want to understand the process and how it actually works so that you can grow.

This program is a great place to start. You will develop a deeper understanding of the body and how the postures work to develop strength, flexibility and balance. You will explore many of the fundamental breath techniques that can be used to help control and quiet the mind and how to combine breath and movement to begin to find the mind body connection.

This course will give you a practical understanding of the fundamentals of movement, anatomy, breath, meditation, and safe sequencing for special conditions. You will leave with the skills to begin teaching and a foundation to advance to higher learning in a 300 hour program and beyond!

Have you always wanted to incorporate a deeper understating of the 8 limbs into your daily practice to create positive and meaningful change in your life on and off the mat?

In this course we will explore the teachings of yoga beyond your asana or movement practice. You’ll work on the real world application of the ethical principals contained in the Yamas and Niyamas and understand why those are foundational to achieving the mental and physical benefits of yoga.

Through guided Self exploration, journaling, and group interaction you will begin to learn what it means to be truly in control of the mind/body connection. You’ll understand the theory but also walk away with practical application skills that will serve you well for a lifetime!

Are you interested in teaching and sharing the practice with others?

Throughout this course you will breakdown many of the common and advanced postures to understand their purpose and alignment. Each week you will work on how to safely enter and come out of postures on you own and how to prepare and cue your students to do it as well. Safe and fun sequencing is at the foundation of teaching and you will work throughout this course to learn those skills.

Gaining a fundamental knowledge of anatomy is at the core of this training. Understanding how the body works and how it is affected by different postures will give you the tools not only to become a great teacher but also to better understand what is going on inside your own body.

But to be a great teacher you also need to learn to manage a class. In this course we will discuss group dynamics, interpersonal communication, presentation skills, and how to create a safe container for your students’ practice. Skills that also translate well into many other aspects of your life.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many types of yoga or how yogi’s stay so healthy?

You’ll begin to understand how the movement and meditation practices fit into the overall mental and physical wellness routines of the Vedic sciences. You will gain an introductory understanding Ayurveda, the subtle body, how to hack the nervous system to calm the mind, and much more.

You will be introduced at a high level to many different kinds of yoga. While we practice the 8 limbs or Raja yoga, you will learn about the many other practices and why people gravitate toward one style of yoga versus another. There are many paths of yoga and within each path there are many branches. Understanding how they relate will help you guide your own journey and provide insight you can share with your students.

Are you ready to enjoy one of the best experiences of your life?

You will develop deep connections and lifelong friendships with your class as you work together to improve your skills as a yogi and as an instructor to hold space and manage a classroom.

Each week as you work on safe and engaging class sequencing you’ll also work together on cover important practical topics like the business of yoga, creating and marketing your brand as a teacher, yoga ethics and more. Building a lasting network of friends and fellow yogi’s that can help you launch your yoga career and support you through the ups and downs.
